Compact SUV will have a 1.5-liter Ecoboost engine

After launching its worldwide best-seller, the F-150 full size pickup, Ford Philippines will be next adding another SUV to its lineup in August: the all-new Territory.

Territory is a compact SUV that will slot above the EcoSport. In other countries, the Territory will be available as a front- or four-wheel drive model. Ford has revealed that the new SUV will measure 4.6 meters in length, 1.9 meters width, and 1.7 meters height.

The Territory’s engine will be a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder paired with a CVT transmission to help maximize fuel efficiency and provide a smoother drive. The engine is expected to produce 181 ps and 240Nm. Ford has said that with the new engine and CVT combo, the Territory’s maintenance cycle will be only once a year, helping to lower service cost. Territory will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels.

“The all-new Ford Territory is designed to empower the modern Filipino driver who don’t want to compromise features, space, technology and versatility in their vehicle,” said PK Umashankar, managing director, Ford Philippines. “With Ford’s heritage and global expertise in designing class-leading SUVs, we are confident that the all-new Ford Territory will resonate with Filipino customers looking for an all-in-one package in their SUV.”

Within its compact footprint, the Territory will have spacious seating for five, according to Ford. It will be one of the first in its segment to offer a cooling feature for its front seats, which will be leather-trimmed and power adjustable as well. A 10-inch touchscreen system with multi-view function and wireless charging helps integrate with your smartphone. A panoramic moonroof will be available.

Driver-assist features include 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control. Active park assist allows the vehicle to steer itself into parallel and, in a segment first, perpendicular parking spaces.

Ford tagged the Philippines as the first in its International Market Group comprised of nearly 100 markets that will launch the new vehicle. The Territory will be launched in August in Titanium and Trend variants. The new model will be similar to the model being sold in China, with the Territory nameplate previously belonging to a larger SUV sold in Australia.

“With the Ford DNA ingrained in its design, quality, and capability, the all-new Ford Territory is designed and engineered following Ford’s highest global quality standards to deliver an all-in-one SUV package that will deliver great value to Filipino customers looking for a stylish, spacious and technologically-advanced SUV,” said PK Umashankar.
