This latest pickup truck variant from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC)—called the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete—sports a powerful aura, providing a bolder and tougher attitude for owners.

To best represent the Strada Athlete and its tagline, “Unleash the Athlete” MMPC recently partnered with current ONE Heavyweight Champion, Brandon Vera, to be its brand ambassador.
“For us, Brandon Vera best represents the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete as his characteristics reflect the very definition of a true athlete. Apart from being a successful world champion in mixed martial arts, Brandon is considered a role model by many followers of the sport because of his discipline, attitude and dedication to be the best version of himself. Like the Strada Athlete, the newly enhanced pick up truck variant is designed to contend with the market’s very best,” explained Mark Parulan, MMPC head of Brand Communications Department.
The Strada Athlete is equipped with a 2.4-liter MIVEC Turbo Clean Diesel engine that generates maximum 179 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with the 4×4 variant equipped with a Super Select 4WD II system that allows shifting to four driving modes on the fly.
The 4×4 variant is priced at P1.78 million while the 4×2 variant at P1.443 million.
Safe and comfortable
The Strada Athlete offers better legroom at the second floor thanks to clever J-line cabin design that maximizes interior space. In addition, the Strada Athlete is also equipped with an 8-way power-adjust driver seat and cruise control to help lessen driver fatigue during long drives.
Both variants of the Strada Athlete are engineered to make driving much safer. Among the safety technology include: Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System, Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control, Trailer Stability Assist, Hill Descent Control as well as Hill Start Assist, Multi Around Monitor with guiding and expected course line, Auto High Beam, and most importantly, a body structure called the Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution of RISE.
The new Strada Athlete comes in three color options: Sunflare Orange Pearl, which is exclusive to the Athlete variant; White Diamond and Graphite Gray Metallic.
