Members of a media contingent who joined a demo run of the EDSA carousel buses have been advised to take necessary precautions after one of the officials from the organizing Department of Transportation (DOTr) discovered that she had been exposed to COVID-19 positive individual.

Assistant Secretary for Communications and Commuter Affairs Goddes Hope Libiran, who assembled the group for the demo run that showed the effectivity and safety of the buses plying the dedicated bus lane on EDSA, informed the group in a viber message of the possible exposure.

Libiran’s message read: “..I learned yesterday night that I have been exposed to an individual that tested positive for COVID-19 last July 24. Though we did not have close contact, as a safety and health precaution I will have myself tested as soon as possible. I’m letting you know in the spirit of transparency as some of you had close contact with me last Tuesday…”

The media invitees agreed to stay home and self-quarantine. Among those who rode with the media invitees were LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III, Assistant Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Steven Pastor, MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati and Mega Manila consortium President Robbie Torres.

The group also had lunch at the LTFRB office with the said officials as well as Land Transportation Office Edgar Galvante.
