After an intense first round of the 2020 Toyota GR Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines, online racing enthusiasts are now gearing up for the next leg of the series which will be virtually held at the Autopolis International Racing Course, in Japan. Organizers of the Gran Turismo Sport-based racing series have now opened registration for round 2 until August 19, 2020.
Racing 2020 Toyota Supra sports cars, the participants are composed of veteran e-racing gamers and even actual professional race car drivers keen to earn the most points in the semi-final and final races of the three-leg tournament. The top finishers in the Promotional, Sporting and Media classes after three rounds will represent the Philippines in the Supra GT Cup Asia Regional Championship.
A Junior Class for drivers below 18-years old will continue to showcase up-and-coming e-racers in the next two rounds.
Gab Señires leads over Lance Padilla and Lance Guballa in the Promotional Class for non-professional gamers with a total 40-point haul in the Suzuka race leg. While veteran e-sports champion Luis Moreno is on top of the Sporting Class standings, also with 40 points. Moreno won both the semi-final and final races in the first round against Mark Voltaire Elman and Miguel San Mateo, completing the top three of the class.
Drivers can earn up to 20 points per race in the semi-final and final heats for each leg. The series employs a multiplier system for each leg with points earned in round 2 worth 1.5x, and third leg points worth 2x their value.
A total of 24 out of 87 registrants qualified in the Promotional Class. While 16 pro-gamers competed in the Sporting Class finals during the first leg of the Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines.

The leaderboard qualifying races of Round 2 of the Toyota GR Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines will be shown on the Toyota Motor Philippines Facebook page on August 22. The semi-final and final races for the Autopolis races will then be broadcast on August 29.
