In the gaming world, upgrades and superpowers are used to create a stronger and better avatar. This way, as the game becomes harder, the player will evolve until he gets equipped with the latest virtual gadgets and upgrades.
Maserati just introduced its latest evolution with the Trofeo range of its sedans, The Quattroporte and Ghibli Trofeo, through a virtual global launch hosted by renowned car vlogger Supercar Blondie.
Trofeo, the Maserati’s top range, embodies the brand’s Trident: performance, style, and flawless handling honed to perfection. The evolution includes a 580 horsepower Ferrari V8 twin-turbo engine, 538 lb-ft. of torque, streaking from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 326 km/h. The Trofeo Quattroporte and the Ghibli fulfill the brand’s racing heritage.
When the sound of its engine used to be Maserati’s claim to fame, the Trofeo version emboldens the brand in terms of looks. The front grille with twin vertical bars in Black Piano finish and the introduction of carbon fiber on the front air duct trims and rear extractor supply a more aggressive effect.
Unique distinguishing factors are the red details highlighting the bottom profiles of the side air vents and the lightning bolt on the trident badge on the C-pillars. Like the Levante Trofeo, both sedans have restyled bonnets that feature two aggressive air ducts for improved cooling. Complementing their robust look, both cars are fitted with 21-inch aluminum Orione wheels.
Interior features are a new 10.1-inch on-board display panel with an exclusive interface switch-on and a Maserati Connect Program, a wireless charging system and the headrests that bear the 3D Trofeo badge add to the allure. The exclusivity of the interior extends to its full-grain Pieno Fiore leather seats.
The Ghibli and Quattroporte’s standard speaker system is produced by Harman Kardon, but customers may opt for a Bowers & Wilkins system with 15 speakers. The Maserati Connect Program is compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Like the Maserati Levante, the Quattroporte and Ghibli also have the Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) system that enhances driving dynamics, improved safety and driving pleasure. Both sedans also have a Corsa button that sets the car in the sport mode. They also have Launch Control that can unleash the engine’s full potential, and deliver a heart-pumping performance – an authentic driving experience you’ll get from Maserati.
To highlight the Maserati’s all-Italian identity, the colors that were chosen for the Trofeo collection are those of the country’s flag: green for Quattroporte, white for Levante and red for Ghibli, combined with the burnished chrome-work and glossy red trims for a, particularly aggressive and elegant look.
Those setting their sights on a Maserati with a Ferrari engine, might have to decide soon. According to Motor1, Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri mentioned that this engine deal will not be renewed.
