New SUV comes Ecoboost turbo engine, 3-year service plan
Ford Philippines has launched the all-new Territory, a compact SUV that’s the latest addition to its extensive stable of SUVs and pickup trucks. The Territory comes with an impressive array of convenience and active safety features. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine. Territory slots above the subcompact Ecosport in size and price.
Territory is propelled by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbo petrol engine, delivering 143ps and 225 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT transmission. Ford says this drivetrain was selected to balance power and fuel efficiency. The system needs preventive maintenance service only once a year. The new SUV is front-wheel drive.
Territory’s two variants, Trend and Titanium+, come standard with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, auto on/off headlamps with follow-me-home time delay, front and rear fog lamps, panoramic moonroof, rear spoiler, and roof rails.
The five-seat cabin features perforated leather seats, smart keyless entry with push buttons start, leather steering wheel, speed-sensing power door locks, auto-dimming rear view mirror, high-mount USB port, leather-convered center console with dual lid, sunglass holder, 7 cup and bottle holders, and 12-volt power outlet.
The Titanium+ adds 18-inch alloy wheels, gloss black and chrome grille, rain-sensing front wipers, power-folding mirrors, puddle lamps, and chrome door handles. Inside, it has heated and cooled front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, 10-inch digital instrument cluster, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, one-touch up/down power windows, and ambient lighting with seven color options.
Territory comes with 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, four USB ports, and 6-speaker audio system. Titanium+ gets upgraded to 8 speakers for Titanium+ and a wireless charging system.
Also on board the Titanium+ is Ford Co-Pilot360, comprised of active park assist with parallel and segment-first perpendicular parking assist, 360-degree monitor, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot information system, and lane departure warning.
Standard on both variants are electronic stability control, ABS and EBD brakes, traction control, hill launch assist, six airbags, rear parkign sensors, tire pressure monitor system with individual tire pressure display, high mount stop light and child seat Isofix mounts.
Territory comes in six colors: Rudy Red, Diffused Silver, and Panther Black for both variants. Star White is for the Trend variant, while Crystal Pearl White and Moonstone Blue are for the Titanium+.
Territory is available starting 14 August 2020 at an introductory retail price of PHP1.179M for the Trend variant and PHP1.299M for the Titanium+ variant. As a launch offer, all customers purchasing the Ford Territory from August 14 to September 15, 2020 will get a free 3-year scheduled service plan (SSP) for a worry-free ownership experience.
The Territory is a global product. It was developed by Ford Design Studio in Melbourne, Australia, and tested at proving grounds in Nanjing, China, and Melbourne. This reportedly enabled a well-tuned suspension optimized for ride comfort ane refinement. The EcoBoost engine was designed and developed in Europe. Territory is built in China. The Philippines was chosen as one of the first markets to launch the Territory globally, due to the clamor and enthusiastic support of Ford’s Philippine dealer network.
“The Ford Territory will boost our growing SUV lineup as a new product born out of Ford’s long-standing heritage and expertise in the utility segment,” says PK Umashankar, president and managing director, Ford Philippines. “We are confident that the Ford Territory will offer a new driving experience to Filipino customers as a modern, spacious and technologically-advanced SUV that delivers great value.”
