This is it! The 2020 Gazoo Racing Supra GT Cup Asia – Philippines culminates with the start of the series’ online regional finals. Team Philippines, composed of Terence Lallave, Lance Padilla, and Jose Altoveros will race against 12 other GR Supra GT Cup Asia national winners coming from India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand this October 25th. The series’ e-Motorsport champion will be proclaimed after three rounds to be held at the Fuji Speedway, Tokyo Expressway East Outer Loop, and Nurburgring Nordschleife.
The Philippine elimination, which began last July, saw more than 112 e-gamers compete over three race days using the Toyota Supra GT in the Gran Turismo Sport platform. Lallave, Padilla and Altoveros emerged victorious in the Sporting, Promotional and Media classes respectively to earn the right to represent the country in the GR Supra GT Cup Asia regionals.
According to Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) Vice President for Marketing Services, Elijah Marcial, Team Philippines is sure to give its best in the upcoming online regionals. “We have followed Team Philippines’ journey right from our local qualifying and final rounds and we have seen their determination and indomitable spirit. I am confident Terence, Lance, and Jose will not let us down at the regional finals, and they will give their best for the Philippines.”
Philippine GR Supra GT Cup organizer, Tuason Racing, has been busy this past month preparing Team Philippines for the competition. It has organized mock online Supra Cup races with former top competitors of the local Supra GT Cup to give the three a taste of wheel-to-wheel online racing against formidable competition. TMP also sought the help of PLDT Enterprise to provide stable and fast internet connectivity for the three players during the regional races
The regional final of the GR Supra GT Cup Asia hosted by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP) under the umbrella of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing motorsport activities will be broadcast online this October 25th, 7:00 p.m. (PH time), via Toyota Motor Philippines’ Facebook page www.facebook.com/ToyotaMotorPhilippines.
