Maxus Philippines is putting together an extensive stable of light commercial vehicles that are suitable for Filipino families and business owners. Maxus promises that these are vehicles that will be reliable and efficient.

The latest vehicle to be launched, and potentially the most interesting for Philippine customers, is the Maxus G50 multi-purpose vehicle. The G50 8-seater minivan clocks in at a garage-friendly size of 4825mm long x 1825 wide x 1778 mm tall. Even with a roof rack, it slots in at 1800mm tall, which is important for going into mall and condominium parking spaces.

The Maxus G50 is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. With 1.5 liters displacement, the in-line four-cylinder harnesses turbocharging with intercooler and direct injection to produce 169 ps, and a flat torque output of 250Nm from 1700 to 4300 rpm. It’s paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Maxus G50 has an eight-seat capacity, with the classic three-row configuration of 2+3+3 seats. As a proper MPV, the G50 allows the seats to fold in various configurations to increase cargo area when needed. The G50’s boxy rear section allows for easy carrying of luggage and a low lift height, thanks to a hatch that opens all the way down into the rear bumper. Power tailgate is available for the top Premium variant of the G50.

Maxus G50 uses a classic two-box design. It’s enhanced with available LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome front grille, and LED rear lights.

The Maxus G50 has multiple convenience features that make driving much easier, including a reverse camera, parking sensors, keyless entry and push-start button. The Premium and Elite variants sport a 12-inch infotainment system, 360-degree view camera, and leather seats. The Premium variant adds panoramic sunroof, mobile wireless charging and LED headlamps. Safety features include electronic stability program, electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. President Felipe Estrella described how the G50 further enhances the role which Maxus’ line-up of LCVs plays in Filipinos’ lives. “We have recognized the importance of families since we launched our flagship model, the G10 multi-purpose vehicle in 2019. Our other models, the V80 van as well as our pick-up, the T60, match the continuously evolving needs and wants of Filipino families. We likewise appreciate the hard work of micro, small and medium enterprise owners. The reliability, efficiency, power and versatility of our products make them ideal for businesses and even essential, life-saving purposes. The G50 is our latest vehicle that caters, again, to the Filipino family.”

Maxus is introducing the G50 in stand-out colors like Roland Purple, Polar Ash, and Deep Golden, as well as Warm White, Warm Argent, Metal Black and Water Blue.

Warranty coverage for the Maxus G50 is 5 years or 100,000km. Emergency roadside assistance 24/7 is standard, and on-site servicing for fleet accounts.

Maxus Philippines General Manager Reginald See said, “The G50 is an MPV that can take in even your extended family members since it’s an 8-seater. It’s ideal for long road trips and family picnics. The great thing about this is that it has the price of a sub-compact MPV.”

Indeed, the G50 starts at P1.088 million for the G50 Pro AT. The G50 Elite AT is priced at P1.168 million, and even the top of the line G50 Premium is at just P1.288 million.
