Welcome to Inquirer Mobility

It has always been a yearly tradition for show car owners, car collectors, restoration and tuner shops to use the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) as their grand stage to showcase their automotive masterpieces and also to see who among themselves would vie for the year’s prestigious “Best of Show” title and a host of other distinguished category awards.

This year’s edition of the Petron-MIAS Classic and Custom Car Competition powered by Inquirer Mobility is indeed a true testament to the car culture in this country where artisans and highly skilled mechanics show the fruits of their hard work.

Not to be deterred by the pandemic, MIAS Wired offers a platform not only for the car-loving public to enjoy over a hundred new vehicle models in the market, but to reminisce the past by visiting the classics and well-crafted custom cars in the country’s first-ever virtual auto show.

Annual tribute

In partnership with Inquirer Mobility, this year’s show car competition is once again presented by Petron, as MIAS pays its annual tribute to the ingenuity and craftsmanship of shop owners and restorers who have dedicated their life’s work in bringing back vintage and classic cars a new lease in life, or newer cars with highly customized bodies and engine works.

Some notable cars that should not be missed include:

  • the 1958 Porsche 356-A and 1970s Porsche 911 Safari of Manny Dimaculangan
  • the classic 1980s Toyota Land Cruiser BJ45 pickup by Shelby Auto Station
  • the gorgeous Ferrari 512TR “Testarossa” of Pipo Alcantara
  • a radical 1969 Ford Mexico Ronald Araga with an MX5 under chassis
  • two classic LC’s from Black Rhino Wheels (LC60 and BJ40)
  • a collectible 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL “Pagoda”

Watch out for other car masterpieces including those from the 1950s to the new millennium, from sports cars to classic sedans and SUVs.

Since this year’s MIAS is virtual and will go live on Dec. 16, expect the fascination for these classic and custom cars to go international in viewership.
