GM8’s star shines brighter with another best minivan award
The country’s longest running and premiere automotive enthusiast magazine C! named the GAC GM8 as the “Best Minivan” late last year for the second straight year in a virtual ceremony held by the publication.
The C! Awards is an annual award-giving ceremony held by C! Magazine, which is a result of a year’s testing and review of the vehicles in the local market done by its editorial team.
The GM8 minivan was graded and chosen for its outstanding value for money, features and performance for the second straight year and the award was given in a virtual ceremony held recently.
“We are humbled to receive the award. This is just a validation that GAC Motor continues to provide high-quality vehicles that can meet the needs, and driving satisfaction of every consumer. With GAC’s proven stability and reliability, we can assure that the brand will be loved by Filipinos,” said Wilbert Lim, CEO of Legado Motors Inc., the exclusive distributor of GAC vehicles in the country.
In this highly-competitive and price-sensitive market, the GM8 offers a vehicle with a very premium feel without necessarily paying a lot for it thanks to its P2,880,000 price tag. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line 4 gasoline engine rated at 199 hp and 320Nm of torque. Considered as one of the most affordable vehicle in this segment, it is packed with many features and amenities usually found in its higher priced competitors.
It has spacious and comfortable seating for seven passengers, the GM8 is a joy to ride for long and even short city trips. The second-row seats feature an ottoman footrest, aircraft style headrest and is equipped with a back massager. The third-row seats also offer large legroom for optimum comfort on the road. GAC says its cabin features a 360-degree Serene Sanctuary, with a 32-color LED adjustable ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, premium upholstery, and a 10-inch TFT screen to ensure full access to its functions. This executive minivan is well-ventilated with a three-zone automatic air conditioner and an air purification system. Compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the GAC GM8’s infotainment system is an eight-speaker Harman and Kardon audio system, equipped with a Bluetooth and a hands-free phone system.
Its safety features include driver aids like parking sensors, a 180-degree backup camera system, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), stability control system, seat belts, seatbelt warning, anti-collision sensor, airbags, and child safety locks.
Next month, GAC Motor Philippines will unveil the GN6 MPV model. It will be the brand’s first foray into this highy-competitive segment.
While the company has yet to announce final pricing and specs, GAC is expected to introduce variants that will offer excellent value-for-money with attractive pricing and features to encourage first-time GAC buyers.
