Welcome to Inquirer Mobility

Just in time to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Suzuki will be releasing several new models this year, starting with the 2021 Dzire sedan. The new Dzire carries enhanced styling, additional active safety equipment, and more convenience features.

The new Dzire is built on Suzuki’s Heartect platform. The chassis was designed to be lightweight and highly rigid, to enhance safety, handling performance, and ride comfort. The Heartect features smooth and continuous curves that help disperse impact energy in case of a collision.

The Dzire is powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, delivering 83 ps and 113Nm. The engine is paired to Suzuki’s Automated Manual Transmission dubbed Auto Gear Shift (AGS). This transmission aims to combine the comfort of an automatic with the fuel efficiency of a manual gearbox. The AGS system automatically operates the shift and clutch allowing for more convenient operation.

For 2021, the Dzire gets a new front grille design with available chrome garnish, new front bumper, multi-reflector headlamps, LED taillights, and available 15-inch alloys and fog lamps.

The interior is done in a classic black and silver color scheme. There’s a flat-borromed tilt-adjusting steering wheel with steering wheel controls, available 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multiple USB ports, and manual airconditioning. The Dzire has plenty of storage for personal times, including front console box, front cup holder, front and rear door pockets, and passenger-seat back pocket. Premium touches such as rear aircon vents, rear 12-volt accessory socket, rear armrest with cup holder are on the higher variants. The Dzire’s sedan configuration allows for 378 liters of trunk space.

The Dzire is now equipped with available Electronic Stability Program. The ESP helps keep the car on its intended path in severe or slippery driving conditions by controlling engine torque and selectively applying the brakes. Standard on all Dzire variants, ABS-EBD brakes and dual SRS airbags round out the safety features. Also available are hill-hold control, brake assist, and rear parking sensors.

“We are very much thankful for the great support that the market has shown to us, especially for the past year. Despite the challenges the we are faced with, this new model serves as our light and hope as we continue to work harder and strive for greatness in the months and years to come, ” said SPH Vice President and General Manager for Automobile Keiichi Suzuki.

He further added, “We in Suzuki Philippines are happy to announce that the New Dzire offers our latest innovative technology and design that offers an authentic sedan experience. We are optimistic that with this new model, we will be able to continue in championing the Suzuki Way of Life, and remain true to our dedication to deliver quality products and services.”

The New Dzire comes in two variants GL (MT) and GL + (AGS). A variety of colorways for GL variant includes Arctic White Pearl, Premium Silver and Midnight Black Pearl. For the GL+, the New Dzire is available in Sherwood Brown Pearl, Oxford Blue Pearl Metallic, Magma Gray Metallic, and Phoenix Red Pearl.
