Emerging from robust performance results in 2020, Porsche this year is accelerating its product offensive and is charging up its successful start toward the electromobility age through the fully electric Taycan.
Porsche is now bolstering the Taycan range with the introduction of the fully electric sports car’s newest version. And this 2021 model is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines in March, just as Porsche is releasing it to showrooms worldwide.
While Porsche Cars North America has announced its suggested price for the newest version of the Taycan, the figure should not be simply and directly converted into any other local currency to arrive at a domestic price considering the numerous—and oftentimes, significant—variations in the imposition and costs of duties, taxes and freight expenses among international markets.
Like all Taycan variants, the newest one boasts of impressive acceleration and power typical of sports cars. Credit for these go to the permanently excited synchronous motor on the rear axle and a two-speed transmission. Combined with the standard Performance Battery, the new 2021 Taycan’s powertrain delivers up to 408 PS, enabling the model to accelerate from a standing start to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 230 km/h. Using a 175 kW DC charger allows the battery to be charged from 5% to 80% in approximately under 30 minutes. Driving range, in accordance with WLTP standards, is up to 431 kilometers under ideal conditions. Helping in this regard is the new Taycan’s aerodynamics, which affords the car a slippery 0.22 coefficient of drag value.

Standard to the new 2021 Taycan are six-piston brakes in front and four-piston brakes at the rear.
Integrated into the new 2021 Taycan is the Porsche 4D Chassis Control that analyzes and synchronizes all chassis systems in real time. The latest model is equipped with adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology, which is supplemented by the Porsche Active Suspension Management, or PASM, electronic damper control system.
Distinguishing the new 2021 Taycan model are its 20-inch Taycan Turbo Aero wheels and black anodized brake calipers. The fully electric sports car’s front apron, side sills and rear diffuser are finished in black, while LED headlights are standard.
The cockpit of the new 2021 Taycan—it seats five—is defined by a 16.8-inch free-standing curved instrument cluster, a central 10.9-inch infotainment display, another display for the front passenger, comfort seats in front with eight-way power adjustment, and two spacious luggage compartments.
