After much hype and anticipation, Audi Philippines finally unveiled the Audi Sport lineup in the country.

The initial models offered include the face-lifted R8 V10 Plus, the RS Q8 Super Cross-Over SUV, the menacing Audi RS6 Avant and the RS3 pocket-rocket with its 5-cylinder turbo engine.

Being an avowed Audi fan myself, I had to check out the cars and dream about driving any of these cars and hopefully own one someday soon.

The R8 V10 Plus is powered by a 5.2 liter normally aspirated V10 engine coupled to a 7-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission and and of course Audi’s Quattro All-Wheel drive system. Output is pegged at 610hp and 580 Newton-Meters of torque. It brings World Endurance Sports Car Championship winning pedigree to discerning sports car enthusiasts who crave the passion and performance of a proper supercar while flying under the radar.

The RSQ8 is aimed squarely at buyers looking for performance without compromising all-road, all-weather versatility mixed with a good dose of style. The 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 powers the Quattro All-Wheel drive system with a ZF 8-speed Tiptronic automatic, making sure all 600hp and 800 Newton-Meters of torque make contact to any sort of surface you throw at it.

Audi has a long history of making fast station wagons, and the RS6 is the brand’s latest incarnation of their legendary ‘Amazing Avants’ packing the same 4.0 twin turbo V8 and Quattro drivetrain from the RSQ8 in a somber albeit still brooding wagon body style. If covering serious highway miles all day at ballistic speeds is your thing, the RS6 Avant is perfect. And you can bring your family and friends to enjoy the ride too!

Last, but definitely not least is Audi’s RS3. Quattro All-Wheel Drive and the 5-cylinder turbo engine layout debuted in the early 1980’s with the Audi Ur Quattro Coupe, revolutionizing the world Rally Championship with multiple wins and championships in succeeding evolutions of the model. The RS3 carries on this legacy with its compact dimensions while packing 400hp and 480 Newton-Meters of torque through its Quattro All-Wheel drive system and 7-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission.

The Audi Sport lineup appeals to people who want the performance and passion in a unique, non-traditional package without foregoing functionality & ease of use. Even the R8 V10 Plus supercar is very roomy and very comfortable inside, you’ll want to use it every day! I know I would! Exiting the showroom was such sweet sorrow; knowing I can’t (yet, hopefully) afford one, but filled with the anticipation of seeing these cars on the road warms my Audi-shaped heart.
