After its successful virtual launch, the first batch of Chery’s Tiggo 7 Pro was sold out in just 30 days.

Launched just last January 27th, Chery Auto Philippines made the announcement and added that there is already a growing waiting list for the next shipment scheduled to arrive late March.

Chery’s re-entry to the PH market on November 2019 ushered in a new generation of crossovers – the subcompact Tiggo 2 and Tiggo 5x, the compact Tiggo 7, and the midsize 7-seater Tiggo 8. Aside from providing great value in their lineup, Chery Auto Philippines is upselling to a new segment of buyers who still want value but are looking for more premium features.

“The warm market acceptance to the all-new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is a strong indication that more and more Filipino buyers are no longer just settling for bargains or low-priced units, but are now looking for true great value, regardless of brand,” says Chery Auto Philippines President Rommel Sytin.

“Filipinos are now aware that they can get all the features—and even more—than what the established brands are giving, at a better price,” Sytin added.

According to Sytin, it’s not just price that are bringing buyers to its showrooms. “The Tiggo 7 Pro has the upmarket styling and features that can let it sit side by side with premium brands and still hold its own,” declared Sytin. The new Tiggo 7 Pro’s Euro-inspired design was penned by Chery’s Vice President and Global Chief of Car Design, Kevin Rice. Rice used to be a designer for Mazda Europe and BMW, spending 13 years in the German luxury carmaker and another 5 years working in Mazda Europe. The British-born designer began his career in German carmaker Opel, and also worked with Italdesign Guigiaro in Italy. When he was Mazda’s European Design Director, he worked on several models including the sexy MX-5 from 1999 to 2005 and earlier, worked on BMW’s 1, 3 and 4-Series.

The Tiggo 7 Pro’s big, bold grille is well-paired with its slim LED headlamps. Making it look more premium are its upmarket styling touches that include a floating roof effect achieved by black wrap-around rear pillars, distinctive character lines, and 18-inch alloy wheels. At night, the LED foglamps and daytime running lights (DRLs) provides excellent road illumination.

Inside, the new Tiggo 7 Pro’s leather-clad cabin and sporty red double stitching matches well with its red accents on the doors and dashboard. Its 10.25-inch touchscreen is considered the largest in its class and is paired with a 6-speaker infotainment system with connectivity with Bluetooth, Mirror Link, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a USB connection. Adding to its premium feel is a touch-panel that controls the AC system. It is also equipped with Smart Key, which not only starts the engine, but can also turn on the AC, open the tailgate and windows, all at a push of a button. There is also wireless mobile phone charging aside from the three USB ports.

Other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, multi-color cabin ambient lighting, 360-degree HD camera, a power tailgate, a push-button electronic parking brake, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rear camera with front and rear proximity sensors, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The all-new Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a new 1.5L turbocharged DOHC 16-valve Euro 5 4-cylinder engine coupled with an all-new continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Tiggo 7 Pro’s safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Assist Control (HDC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and ISOFIX child-seat tethers. It also has a Brake Override System, which automatically overrides the throttle when the gas and brake pedals are accidentally depressed at the same time. The Tiggo 7 Pro also has an Emergency Signal System, which flashes the hazard lights at high speed if the driver suddenly brakes when traveling at high speed to more quickly alert the motorist following behind.

The new Tiggo 7 Pro comes with Chery’s standard 10-year/1 million-km engine warranty, a 5-year/150,000-km general vehicle warranty, free 3-year preventive maintenance service (PMS), and free 3-year roadside assistance.

As of this writing, it still has a retail price of P1,198,000 after Chery PH decided to absorb the safeguard tariff until March 31, 2021.
