The RS Q8 is the fastest SUV at the Nurburgring

Audi Sport tests and finetunes every new RS model at the famed Nurburgring track in Germany, with each high-performance vehicle—whether this be a sedan, coupe, crossover or SUV—undergoing at least 8,000 kilometers of evaluation and development work. By doing these, Audi Sport determines how RS models’ powertrain and suspension components perform under extreme conditions.
The all-new, 2021 Audi RS Q8, developed by Audi Sport, is no exception. And proof of the immense dynamism of Audi Sport’s top Q model is that the RS Q8 has lapped the Nurbugring’s North Loop in 7 minutes and 42.253 seconds—currently the fastest time set by a production SUV at the demanding track.
Bringing such racetrack performance to the road, Audi Philippines offers the local market the opportunity to experience the capabilities of the all-new, 2021 RS Q8. The flagship SUV’s numerous technologies and features can even be presented to clients from the comfort of their homes through the Audi Live View. This fully digital luxury experience lets clients engage in real time, via a smartphone, with an Audi product expert who is at an Audi Philippines showroom.
One key factor that allows the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 its record-setting performance is its 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 engine that produces 600 hp and 800 Nm of torque between 2,200 rpm and 4,500 rpm—output that can propel the SUV from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, and to 200 km/h in 13.7 seconds. Accompanying the power is a distinct voluminous sound coming from a dual exhaust system finished by oval tailpipes. The engine’s notes can be tuned via the Audi drive select system, which can also alter the handling and dynamic response of the vehicle.
Despite the power, the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 is fuel-efficient because of a mild-hybrid system that, in certain conditions, can let the vehicle coast for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off. Also helping out is the engine’s cylinder-on-demand system, which can deactivate some of the cylinders to cut on fuel consumption.
Like all RS models, the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 is equipped with Audi Sport’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that splits the drive power between the front and rear axles depending on available traction. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission delivers the engine’s power to the quattro system.
Standard to the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 is the RS adaptive air suspension sport with controlled damping, which can be set up toward dynamic handling even while retaining the model’s inherently comfortable and smooth ride. Boosting the model’s performance are an all-wheel steering system, massive RS ceramic brakes and the RS sport exhaust.
Distinguishing the all-new, 2021 RS Q8’s exterior are its Singleframe, RS-specific radiator grille, side air inlets and other trim pieces; HD Matrix headlamps; wide quattro blisters above the wheel arches that provide space for the model’s more generous wheel track; the RS roof-edge spoiler and rear skirt with a diffuser clip that provide increased downforce; and 23-inch sport alloy wheels.
In the cabin, the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 boasts of special RS displays and graphics in the Audi virtual cockpit and MMI, including a shift light. RS badges on the sport seats, illuminated door sill trim and flat-bottom leather steering wheel elevate the model. Also included among other luxury features are the air quality package, seats with massage function, a premium B&O audio system, carbon fiber trim, an extended leather package, and soft-closing doors. The vehicle also packs a comprehensive range of assist systems.
As its Nurburgring record proves, the all-new, 2021 RS Q8 combines outstanding performance and extraordinary design with the space and versatility of a luxury SUV.
