Welcome to Inquirer Mobility

Miss Universe 2015 winner Pia Wurtzbach just bought a gorgeous Mini Countryman S with an SRP of P3.85million.

A highly paid celebrity endorser and beauty queen could have easily pulled out her checkbook and get one (or even two) of these at a whim so what’s the big news? What’s interesting about this purchase was she bought her new MINI using Lyka GEMS.

Photos of her and her new white MINI were posted on Facebook at the MINI showroom at Molito. MINI is being distributed here exclusively by the Autohub Group.

Lyka is a free and new social media platform that allows users to connect to its community and share their interests using photos and videos similar to Instagram and Facebook or even Tik Tok. What’s interesting about this platform is that Lyka rewards its users with “Lyka Gems” when users gains ratings and engagements when sharing posts. These GEMS, which is an acronym for Gift card in Electronic Mode is a point system reward that can be accumulated and used as some sort of digital currency to purchase products or services. Every time that a Lyka user engages with other people’s posts, both parties will earn a certain amount of GEMS.

The 2.0 liter twin power turbocharged engine of the MINI Countryman S can propel this car from 0-100kph in 7.2 seconds which is considered quick for an engine of its size and is trimmed with many goodies including a John Cooper Works 19 inch alloy wheels and steering wheel.

Celebrities who have earned their GEMS already in the millions can convert these into products or services with Lyka partner merchants like MINI Philippines. In the case of Wurtzbach, she paid for her MINI Countryman S in full with her Lyka GEMS credits.
