MG Philippines recently announced it already crossed the 10,000-unit sales mark in less than three years of operation, a milestone for a 97-year-old brand that constantly refreshes its product portfolio to meet the evolving needs of customers.
“I am glad to announce that around the world, MG has experienced increased vehicle sales figures in countries and territories where the brand is present, including the United Kingdom where the brand was born, the Middle East, The Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, France, Australia, South America, and India, while strengthening its production capabilities and technologies in Northeast Asia,” said MG Philippines president and CEO, Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla.
He added: “MG Philippines is thankful to mark this 10,000-unit sales milestone, and we share this achievement with our 37 dealers nationwide, bank partners, media colleagues, and our valued clients. It is an honor knowing that thousands of Filipinos have trusted MG for their mobility needs. This trust motivates us to continue providing innovative, customer-centric products and services for a truly dedicated MG ownership experience.”
Of the 10,000-plus sales, the MG ZS sub-compact crossover model accounted for 68 percent, the MG 5 sedan contributed 22 percent while the rest was for the MG RX5 compact crossover SUV and MG 6 sedan.
MG Philippines, an affiliate of The Covenant Car Company, Inc., is following MG’s “Mission 100” corporate strategy that aims to sell 1 million MG units globally while expanding to no less than 100 international locations by 2024, which coincides with the brand’s 100th anniversary.
Arcilla related that MG Philippines continues to strengthen its foothold in the auto industry and, in just a short span, has increasingly figured into the conversations of consumers planning their next brand-new vehicle purchase.
“Early on we at MG Philippines and The Covenant Car Company, Inc., acknowledged that the MG brand’s global recognition and rich heritage which chronicles almost a century of designing and manufacturing vehicles would positively resonate with the Philippine motoring public. With MG’s full range of new and exciting models equipped with premium features, that are aggressively offered at attainable price points, and served by an established nationwide dealer network, MG Philippines was optimistic that we would grow the brand and the sales at an accelerated pace,” said Atty. Arcilla.
Safe and sanitized experience
He also added that since the beginning of the pandemic last year, MG Philippines has provided a safe and sanitized experience for all customers who want to physically visit dealerships for unit inspection, vehicle servicing, or parts procurement; or to see actual MG models at one of the many vehicle roadshow displays held in public locations.
“Furthermore, with the commitment to bringing after sales services closer to its clients, MG Philippines has continued to adapt and serve the needs of a highly upward, mobile, online-savvy clientele by offering select MG Philippines after sales services online for a convenient, practical, and bespoke MG ownership experience,” said Atty Arcilla.
The initiation of these online after sales services marked MG Philippines’ stronger presence on the web, and likewise provides clients with remote options for all their vehicle servicing needs, should they be unable to visit the MG showroom nearest to them.
These after sales services include real-time response via MG Live Chat Support, which is accessible on both desktop and mobile versions of mgmotor.com.ph, and is staffed by actual MG Philippines consultants ready to answer and respond to MG-related queries including PMS appointments, warranty, parts availability, after sales services, sales promos, and test drive scheduling; MG Online Garage for remote vehicle diagnosis via video chat, and the MG Mobile Garage home service for home vehicle repairs (eligibility to avail of the MG Mobile Garage home repair service offer is dependent on the approved vehicle repair assessment conducted by your official MG service professional); and the My MG Mobile App which turns your smartphone into a mini personal garage by keeping your vehicle servicing record handy, and also being a tool for scheduling PMS, reserving parts, and locating the nearest MG dealership to you.
