The all new Ford Ranger is big news, and bigger too!

The new Ford Ranger was shown to the world for the first time, and it is a big change in many ways.

For one, Ford actually listened to their customers, more than ever. They looked to understand the needs, desires and demands of those that would buy and drive their truck. The result is a vehicle that may be surprisingly spot-on for many.

For one, it is visually quite bold but also somewhat sleek. The front end is aggressive visually, but not as chunky as you might expect. It also got a little longer and a little wider. Length helps with the approach angles because of where they added what, and width made the cabin more open and the bed more usable. There are more engines now available to the global market, but which one you can actually buy depends on your market. The same goes for transmissions. All this is meant to hopefully allow vehicles that are more fit for the different end users and the different end uses of work, play and family.

A lot of what impresses with the new Ford Ranger is in little details that should make lives easier. There is a little step are now after the rear wheel well, which allows you to step up and more easily access different areas of the truck bed. The tailgate is a work surface, with a built-in ruler and cupholders and clamp pockets that allow you to hold down materials for clean cuts and precision work. You have the ability and the space to add a second battery in case your overloading adventures need that little bit more. Some markets will get even more, such as Berliners with functional divider locators to help organize the bed, zone lighting for those long days that stretch into night. There was far more thought put into how the truck will actually be used than ever before.

The interior has the same attention to detail but is more focused on creating a better environment for the inhabitants. Materials are more premium, there are more choices available. The cabin feels more crossover than truck, but still retains the workhorse DNA. The large console display screen is well integrated rather than looking like an add-on, the rear seat can fold flat for even more space and behind it is, yes, more storage. There is a wireless charging pad large enough to accommodate plus-size phones, and there are six available drive modes to allow you handle very different types of terrain. This was someething previously available only on the Raptor.

The Ford Ranger is sold in over 180 countries around the world, and the design and engineering team sought to create what would truly be a global pickup truck for a globe full of people that have changed their priorities.
