Buying a new ride with the latest high-tech features doesn’t need to be a budget-busting experience. Changan’s newest crossover is priced just under P1 million and yet features advanced safety tech that are only offered on more expensive vehicle models.
After debuting in China last year, Changan Motor Philippines Inc. (CMPI) announced that the new CS35 Plus is now available here in three variants: CS 35 Plus Luxe at P999,000; CS 35 Plus Hype at P969,000; CS 35 Plus Lite at P898,000.
The new CS35 Plus now sports a chiselled look with a rather sporty appeal:split LED Headlamp layout with LED DRL and front position lamps; new grille design inspired by obsidian rock formation pattern; and new aircraft-inspired light design tail lamps.
The Hype and Luxe variants sport 18-inch 2-toned alloy wheels as well as a unique red racing line that wraps around the front headlamps, running along the muscular side body and seamlessly connecting to the new LED tail lamps.
What is more surprising is that the new CS35 Plus is laden with smart features like an Engine Remote Start that allows the driver to remotely start the engine as well as the air-conditioning system. There’s also a Power Tailgate on the Luxe variant that helps the driver to automatically open the tailgate with just the key or by simply standing behind the vehicle with key on hand for about 4 seconds.
Another smart package that should attract buyers to the Luxe variant of new CS35 Plus is Safe-tech System, a comprehensive safety and protection system that includes the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) that allows the vehicle to follow the vehicle in front at a safe distance. Using the system’s built-in radar, it actively adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
Also included is the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), which supplements the driver’s braking application during emergency situations, and the Front Collision Warning (FCW), which gives the driver visual alerts on the digital instrument display, and sets off an alarm to brake when the system detects risk of collision with the vehicle in front.
The Luxe version of the new CS35 Plus is also fitted with a Panoramic Camera System that provides 2D or 3D visibility with a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings to help detect obstructions when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
To make sure everything is clearly monitored, the new CS35 Plus is equipped with a 10-inch Touch Display. This multimedia also features Bluetooth connectivity to play personal music lists, smartphone mirroring for calls, navigation, video playback and more.
The new CS35 Plus is available in three colors: Wunderlust White, Timber Wolf Gray, and Draco Red.
