Suzuki Auto Kawit brings beloved Japanese car brand closer to Caviteños

By Kenneth M. del Rosario

Suzuki has brought the beloved Japanese car brand closer to the Caviteños with the opening of its latest dealership location south of the metro, the Suzuki Auto Kawit.

The opening of the new establishment is a timely one, as Filipinos continue to take to driving a private car, which remains the safer way to travel compared to taking mass transportation today, given the COVID-19 situation.

Suzuki Auto Kawit is a newly constructed 3S dealership located along Centennial Road, one of the major highways in Cavite, spanning various cities and municipalities. The area houses Kawit’s automotive row, where other major brands operate.

Owned and operated by NXT Mile Motors, a company under Alphamile Auto Group, the facility has a total floor area of around 2,000 sqm. The location boasts of a display area that can accommodate up to six display units, as well as a service area with eight working bays to accommodate a wide variety of jobs.

NXT Mile Motors Inc. is owned by a diverse group of seasoned businesspeople in various industries such as Plastics and Petrochemicals, Construction Supplies, and Real Estate.

Suzuki Auto Kawit is not only the first dealership in Cavite to offer the complete package of Sales, Service, and Spare Parts, but it also showcases the latest modern design standards of Suzuki Philippines. With the establishment, Caviteños would now be able to get their beloved Suzuki cars, and experience top-notch service for both new and old Suzuki car owners alike, without going far.

“What we are most excited about is seeing how Suzuki vehicles concretely impact the lives of the people in the communities we will be serving—the joy of a daily commuter after buying an S-Presso, knowing he or she can now drive to work everyday without compromising his or her safety. Or the excitement of an off-road enthusiast after finally getting to drive the new Jimny or the relief knowing that car owners wouldn’t have to go all the way to Metro Manila for a service run,” said Mark Tionson, NXT Mile Motors Inc. president and Alphamile Auto Group executive vice president.

Evolution of automotive landscape

One of the biggest trends Tionson have observed in the Philippine automotive landscape is its evolution from traditional brick-and-mortar storefronts to a truly omni-channel market.

“The transition was bound to happen, but the pandemic has truly highlighted the need for a safer avenue to shop, accelerating digitization and creating a market where consumers can now be equally found online and offline,” he said.

These market conditions have demanded the group to pivot its overall sales and aftersales strategy, in which being present and having customer touch points across various channels have become paramount.

They have noticed that Filipino motorists have become more value conscious, most likely as a result of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This, together with the need for them to find a safer and more viable alternative to get to the workplace, has augmented the demand for value-for-money vehicles intended for everyday use. These developments create a unique opportunity for Suzuki, with its lineup of quality yet affordable compact vehicles that matches the everyday lifestyle of Filipinos.

Firm believer of the brand

Mark, on the other hand, is a graduate of Chemical Engineering in De La Salle University. Similar to his brother, he has also worked for an FMCG company—Proctor & Gamble Philippines. He left the company early 2020 to partner with his brother to expand their automotive business.

“Ironically, neither of us were particularly interested in cars before, but we were passionate about technology and innovation as a whole. As we started to operate the business, we both grew to love cars and the inner workings of the industry, and now our goal is to keep expanding the footprint of our automotive group in the Philippines,” Tionson said.

The group decided to put up a Suzuki dealership because they are a firm believer of the brand, its strong growth over the past decade, and its potential to continue being at the forefront of innovation in the compact vehicle industry.

But more than its business potential, the group resonated with Suzuki Philippines’ mission of providing Filipinos with the best quality cars that offer both ease in transportation, and a car that matches their everyday lifestyle. With this in mind, they chose Kawit because of its strategic location where the city connects the smaller towns of Cavite with the bigger cities in the province, making it the perfect location to reach Caviteños in all walks of life.

Originally slated to open at a much earlier date, Suzuki Auto Kawit was able to open only this month due to the delays caused lockdowns restrictions. On the bright side, this has also allowed them to ensure that their showroom was up to the best standards, while also being able to incorporate the new social distancing guidelines which are here to stay as the country recovers from the effects of the pandemic.

Tionson said: “True to Alphamile Auto Group’s vision of being the preferred automotive dealer and service network in the Philippines, car enthusiasts can expect Suzuki Auto Kawit to provide superior sales experience, most reliable aftersales service, and uncompromising customer care to all its clients.”
