The MG Concourse at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is set to exemplify how MG is truly a global brand: steeped in rich 98-year old British heritage; supported by China’s SAIC Motor, a premier Fortune 500 technology integrator; and heralded locally by the receptive men and women of The Covenant Car Company, Inc. Apart from MG Philippines’ full lineup of vehicles (the popular ZS Crossover SUV; its turbocharged sibling, the ZST Crossover SUV; the feature-packed MG 5 Alpha sedan; the stylish and sporty MG 6 Fastback Sedan; and the robust RX5 SUV), the MG Concourse is set to showcase two new exciting products: the 2022 MG HS SUV, and an upgraded variant of the widely popular MG 5 Sedan: the MG 5 Core Plus.
2022 HS SUV
The HS SUV is the latest global MG model to join MG Philippine’s growing stable of vehicles. It offers discerning motorists a modern, feature-laden, safe, and value-rich vehicle; premium features and style, a plush and comfortable ride, fine driving dynamics, and all for a very attainable price point.
The HS is powered by a 1.5 inline-4 DOHC turbocharged gasoline engine and mated to a smooth-shifting 7-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic Transmission, produces 167 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It is also equipped with modern driver aids such as a Blind Spot Detection System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, EPS 3-mode Adjustable Steering, push start-stop functionality, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a proprietary “Sport Mode” that allows for crisper steering and throttle response.
With MG’s signature Stardust Grille, the HS sports a swooping body lines and an athletic stance thanks to its 18-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels (standard across the two variants), powerful LED headlights with 9-Crystal Lighting with sequential turn light functionality (also featured on the vehicle’s tail lights). The HS’s cabin features an ambient lighting system that can change color according to one’s preference.

MG 5 Core Plus
Also at the MIAS, MG Philippines is set to launch the latest variant of the MG 5. The Core Plus builds on the strengths of the widely popular MG 5 Core CVT, adding new features such as a 10-inch color display touchscreen equipped with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto function; a reversing camera, for a more convenient parking experience; and two additional loudspeakers for better sound quality from the vehicle’s entertainment unit.
Powering MG 5 Core Plus is a fuel efficient, 1.5-liter, DOHC 16V, naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 112 hp and a best-in-class torque output of 150 Nm. Standard safety and convenience highlights of the MG 5 Core Plus include driver and passenger airbags, 4-wheel disc brakes, a Bluetooth handsfree system, cruise control, and a tire pressure monitoring system, just to name a few.
The MG 5 Core Plus retails for only P748,888. It is also available with the following promos: a Low Down Payment promo: P63,000 or Cash Discount Price of P683,888.
