Nissan booth demonstrates Intelligent Mobility safety system
Nissan Philippines is bringing its Intelligent Mobility tour to the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), running from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center. Nissan is running multiple displays to showcase its e-Power hybrid technology, new Navara Calibre-X pickup, all-electric Leaf hatchback, and the Nissan Intelligent Mobility active safety system.
The Nissan e-Power system alloys motorists to enjoy the benefits of all-electric driving while still having the extended range and easy refueling that a combustion engine provides. Nissan e-Power adds a gasoline engine to a high-output battery and motor. The gasoline engine is there only to charge the battery and does not directly drive the wheels. Thus the engine can operate at its most efficient point. Since it is the electric motor driving the wheels, an e-Power vehicle delivers the same driving experience as a full EV but without the range anxiety. At MIAS, Nissan showcased its new Kicks subcompact SUV with e-Power. The Kicks e-Power, already launched in other ASEAN markets, features a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine driving a high-power electric motor. It is reported to make its Philippine debut later this year.
At the Nissan booth in the MIAS main hall, Nissan displayed the all-electric Leaf. The Leaf hatchback features a 311-km driving range on a full charge, with instantaneous acceleration from its electric powertrain. The Leaf can charge from a standard 220V power source with dedicated socket, or quick charge to 80% in about 40 minutes from a dedicated Wall Box charging station.
Nissan also revealed the new limited-edition variant of its bestselling pickup: the Navara Calibre-X. The Navara Calibre-X carries the look of the Navara Pro-4X. It sports a black Nissan emblem, quad LED projector leadlights, LED taillights, and 17” gloss black alloy wheels. Calibre-X features Zero Gravity front seats, comfortable rear seats, and the powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel with 190ps and 450Nm. Like other Navaras, the Calibre-X rides on a fully boxed ladder frame and five-link rear suspension.
The new turbocharged Almera sedan is also on display at the Nissan booth. The Nissan display also highlights the Intelligent Mobility suite. This includes 360-degree bird’s eye-view of the vehicle, with closeups fo the front, rear and curbside. If features Intelligent forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane departure warning, and blind spot warning. The dynamic nature of Nissan’s new technology is emphasized at the booth by the exciting light-show elements at its center.
Nissan is offering special deals for visitors to its MIAS booth, including discount coupons, free accessories for customers who drive or reserve a Terra SUV, and flexible payment terms via BPI.
