Looks like there is no stopping soaring fuel prices, and very soon it may breach the P100 per liter mark.
So the entry of new players in the electric vehicle market like WM Philippines is just right. WM Philippines (WMPH) recently announced that it has been appointed exclusive distributorship and will introduce the first model, called the Weltmeister W5 electric vehicle model very soon.
Its showroom will be at 7NEO, BGC, Taguig according to Rashid Delgado, president of WM Motor Philippines which would be the first Weltmeister distributor outside of mainland China.
Weltmeister seem to have picked the right partner as Delgado’s family businesses ranges from logistics, manpower, BPOs, organic food and beverage products, and even solar farms. Their thrust towards sustainability is not just a trendy afterthought but their group has a long term vision in mind to advocate sustainability. Their solar business ties in very well with bringing in EVs and are in a position both financially and technically to carry the business and develop its own ecosystem from car distributorship and dealership, charging stations, service, and parts.
“The adoption of EVs has been an ongoing trend mostly seen in developed countries like Norway, the US, and China. We are excited to see the Philippines take this path and embrace the benefits of a more sustainable mobility solution,” said Delgado.
The official launch of the W5 will be on July 13 so expect more details about this in the coming weeks.
