Chery PH celebrates CAMPI membership and participation at PIMS

CHERY Auto Philippines, under United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), has recently been accepted as an associate member by the prestigious Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI), the premiere organization in the Philippine automotive industry composed of the world’s biggest car brands.

Being a member of CAMPI, allows CHERY to participate in this year’s highly anticipated Philippine International Motor Show on September 15-18 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila. It presents an opportunity for the brand to showcase to the public its expansive lineup of crossovers.

“We are honored to be accepted as a new member of CAMPI and we are excited to showcase our vehicles and their advanced technologies in next week’s Philippine International Motor Show or PIMS. We believe this recognition will further increase customer confidence in our relatively new brand and our world-class products—something we experienced a few years ago accepted when CAMPI recognized CHERY’s then-sister brand FOTON,” said CHERY Auto Philippines/UAAGI President Erroll Dueñas.

“The recognition should also help us sustain and even surpass CHERY’s back-to-back record sales that we posted just last July and August. Our commercial vehicle brand FOTON experienced the same progress a few years ago when it became the first Chinese brand to join CAMPI and soon became one of the top 10 players in the Philippine automotive market,” he added.

CHERY is set to introduce “Innovation Revolution” as its central theme for its exhibit at 2022 PIMS. This is represented by its flagship Tiggo 8 PRO variants: the Tiggo 8 PRO 1.6T, the Tiggo 8 PRO PHEV, and the soon-to-be-unveiled newest and most powerful Tiggo 8 PRO variant.

“CHERY’s introduction of the Tiggo 8 PRO PHEV reinforces our longstanding commitment to bringing the benefit of the use of alternative energy more accessible to Filipino motorists. The brand remains steadfast in its vision of providing mobility soluti ons that are future-proof, regardless of uncertain market forces that may affect mobility such as unstable fuel prices. We believe that our PHEV technology is at the core of that solution,” CHERY Auto PH/UAAGI Chairman Rommel Sytin said.

“Our theme of Innovation Revolution dovetails with this year’s motor show’s encompassing theme of ‘Mobility + Humanity: Innovating for the Common Good.’ And we won’t just let people see it; they can actually experience it with our test drive activities,” Sytin added.

Coming back from a four-year hiatus, the 2022 PIMS focuses on introducing innovations that provide safer, more efficient, and sustainable mobility to the people. The bi-annual event missed its 2020 edition due to the pandemic that surged that year.

As a member of CAMPI, CHERY Auto PH will be able to work with the stakeholders of the local automotive industry by having a voice in the formulation of government policies, programs, and standards that will move the local automotive industry forward. The CAMPI membership will enable the company to work with industry colleagues in strengthening the local automotive industry to help both the Filipino motoring public, as well as Filipinos who work in manufacturing, assembly plants, and dealerships.
