2022 night race slated to be one of the most successful in event’s 15-year history

Formula 1 is back in Singapore! After a two-year absence, the Marina Bay Circuit again welcomes fans the world over for the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2022 this weekend.
The ultimate night race has been highly anticipated by die-hard fans, newbies, and people who just wanted to get on a flight and travel. Also, thanks to Netflix and its series “Drive to Survive”, there was a noticeable number of new fans: Gen Z, millennials, male, females in the prime of their lives, were the most willing to travel and experience grand prix racing, live!
Tickets to the 2022 race were quickly snapped up as early as the first day of sales (April 13, 2022). Fans went on to order from authorized agents, selling out the first tranche in just five days. The need for accommodations quickly followed. There was a huge an influx of sales of various hotels, with some reporting a huge increase in the number of bookings over the following weeks after the GP ticket sale period launch. There was no price increase with the race tickets, but the hotels went on to double or even triple their regular room rates during the GP weekend. Despite the increase, hotels sold out just the same.
While there were fans who got left out in the early ticketing sale period, the Singapore GP Management, after hearing the clamor for tickets, decided to open up new grandstands and release the corresponding second batch of tickets, which, similarly sold out in a few weeks. Attendance figures for the 2022 race will rival that of the 2008 inaugural Singapore GP.
With the confirmation by Formula 1 of the 2023 calendar a few days ago, the Singapore GP Management has now come out with its Super Early Bird ticket sales, select GP tickets are available via singaporegp.sg starting September 28, 2022.
The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2023 is slated on September 15-17, 2023.
