Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation unveils the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross today with a starting price of ₱1,328,000.
Sporting a raft of design, comfort, and mechanical updates that improve its performance and functionality as a daily cruiser for individuals and families, the new Xpander Cross continues its adventurous and active positioning in MMPC’s best-selling Xpander lineup.
Design updates
Aside from the latest rendition of the Mitsubishi Dynamic Shield grille, the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross projects a unique outdoorsy vibe with its black wheel arch moldings, door garnishes, side sills, and distinctive roof rails.
New for 2023 are the T-shaped LED headlights, daytime running lights (DRL), and fog lamps. Similarly found on its Xpander MPV sibling, these light pieces modernize the Xpander Cross’ looks while improving visibility and safety.
Also new is the 17-inch two-tone alloy wheel design exclusive to the Xpander Cross.

More premium interior
The interior of the Xpander Cross becomes a premium space for its occupants. Padded soft-to-touch materials and real navy blue shade stitching now line the Horizontal Axis dashboard. A new 4-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, similar to the Montero Sport’s tiller, greets the driver. While a modern 8-inch LCD Digital Meter Cluster is now standard.
The air conditioning controls also get a digital update, and its max cool button complements the new navy-blue leather seats, which suppress surface temperature with its heat guard technology.
Regarding entertainment, the 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio touchscreen system is compatible with Apple CarPLay and Google Android Auto.
Using an Electronic Parking Brake with Brake Auto Hold has opened up space along the center console, which is ideal for accommodating more daily items for long drives.

Improved ride and drive
The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross also receives drivability and safety upgrades. Rear suspension components adopted from the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, such as the enlarged shock absorbers, have given the Xpander Cross a more comfortable and stable ride. It contributes to the new Xpander Cross’ best-in-class 225mm ground clearance.
New for 2023 is the adoption of Active Yaw Control in the Xpander Cross. Derived from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the system ensures precise stability when cornering through brake force control.
Advanced safety features such as Active Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Traction Contol are all standard.
Tried and tested
Under the hood, the same 1.5-liter MIVEC DOHC mill with 104 hp and 141 Nm of torque sojourns on, along with the 4-speed automatic transmission. The setup assures reliability and fuel economy, two crucial considerations for the small MPV market.
Four color options are now available for the 2023 Xpander Cross: the two-tone Sunrise Orange Metallic priced at ₱1,328,000; the two-tone Quartz White Pearl available for ₱1,353,000; and the monotone Graphite Gray Metallic and Blade Silver Metallic which starts at ₱1,328,000.
