Haval H6 HEV, Haval Jolion and GWM Cannon pack impressive power and features

Great Wall Motor (GWM) made a spectacular public debut at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) on April 13, 2023 as it showcased three new vehicles. The Haval H6 hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV), Haval Jolion and GWM Cannon were launched at the GWM pavilion to tens of thousands of visitors on the opening day of the show. This followed GWM’s press launch and on-track demo of its new vehicles. The new cars are designed to offer the latest technology, safety and performance in a high-quality, reliable package.

The cars are already well-known in GWM’s home market. Haval is China’s best-selling SUV brand, and the GWM Cannon, aka the Po’er, has been China’s best-selling pickup for the last 25 years.

For the Philippine market, GWM is launching the Haval H6 HEV. This compact SUV combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 130kW Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Total output is a robust 240hp and 530Nm. Thanks to this powertrain, the H6 HEV offers responsive driving power, experienced by the media at the on-track event. With the high power comes with high efficiency, too, thanks to the third-generation H6 HEV’s hybrid power. Advanced safety features such as level 2 autonomous driving, plus active and passive safety features, make the H6 HEV an ideal family vehicle. The Haval H6 HEV comes in the DHT Supreme (P1,883,000) and DHT Max (P1,788,000) variants.

The Haval Jolion subcompact SUV comes with either a hybrid powertrain or conventional internal-combustion engine (ICE).

The hybrid combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a 115 kW dedicated hybrid transmission, for a combined 186hp and 375 Nm. The combustion variant carries a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 141 hp and 220Nm of torque. Safety features such as blind-spot monitoring system and Level 2 autonomous driving capability make it suitable for city driving as well as out-of-town jaunts. The Haval Jolion comes in four variants: DCT Supreme (P1,588,888 hybrid or P1,248,000 ICE) and Max (P1,128,000) and the DCT Plus, which comes it at a price sweet spot of P998,000.

The Haval Jolion has a large multimedia touchscreen and is equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging. It also has 360-degree around-view monitor and adaptive cruise control.

The Haval brand includes China’s best-selling SUV for 12 consecutive years. The brand continues to conquer international markets and achieve record-breaking volumes
