Mazda Philippines is sounding the final call for the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition, the special edition sports car that was launched at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) in 2022.

As of the latest count, a total of 60 units of the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition have already been delivered to customers, and another 10 reservations awaiting to be delivered. Buyers have until the end of July to place their orders and deliveries will take a few months to be served.

The MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition is a celebration of the brand’s special relationship with the Miata Club of the Philippines (MCP) which is the oldest single-make car club in the country dating back to 1997 when it was founded in 1997 by Eddie Salonga, who owns the first unit of this very special car with serial number 001.

The delivery of the first batch was done at Mazda’s Center of Excellence in Cabuyao, Laguna last October 30th in the presence of members of the MCP aside from the owners who are mostly members themselves. One need not be a member to acquire this car, but ownership and enjoyment of this car will most likely encourage its future owner to sign up and be part of the friendliest and fun-loving car enthusiasts in town.

It comes only with an exclusive Platinum Quartz Metallic exterior color and Navy Blue soft top combination. Also, Navy Blue accents are found on the side mirrors and roll hoops and it uses Satin Silver 17-inch alloy wheels which is also unique to this edition. Inside, these cars come with a specially engraved Mazda Connect Commander knob and a serial number plate, both finished in Sterling Silver. Each unit owner is also given a commemorative car cover and the MCP 25th Anniversary Photo Book.

Specs-wise, it is similar to all 2023 MX-5 models, which is powered by a high-compression 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine rated at 184PS at 7,000rpm and 205N-m of torque at 4,000rpm. It comes with a choice of either a six-speed Skyactiv-Drive MT or six-speed Skyactiv-Drive AT gearbox. The serial number plate also finished in Sterling Silver. Standard features include: black leather seats, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a nine-speaker Bose sound system.
