Bianca Bustamante is on a roll as she recently claimed her second win of the F1 Academy season in Race 3 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy.
The 18-year-old Filipina racing prodigy, who started in P2 of the race, managed to outclass pole-sitter Abbi Pulling of Rodin Carlin, to finish on top of the podium.
In an interview through F1 Academy’s website, Bianca said: “It was a tough race. The P2 in qualifying really helped me. At the start, the main goal was to race cleanly and navigate the first few corners. I tried a few times in T1 for the overtake on Abbi but was able to have a good run on one occasion into T3 and get the move done. It was a really mega job from the team and the car was amazing.”

Earlier, after a lackluster showing in Race 1, finishing outside of the top 10, she immediately powered her way back in Race 2 with a strong slingshot drive from P9 to P2.

After this stellar performance in two out of the three races of Round 5 in Italy, Bustamante moves to P6 in the overall standings. She is currently just 10 points shy of the top five position.

Last May, Bustamante bagged her first-ever career win in Valencia, Spain, becoming the very first Filipino racer to do so in this kind of international race.
Round 6 is set this July 29 to 30 in Le Castellet, France. While the last round is set to conclude in Austin, Texas, USA from October 20 to 22.
