Petron further fuels rising local motorsports

Motorsports in the country is now again on the rise, closely resembling its heydays in the 70’s and 80’s. With its growing momentum these days comes big companies, such as Petron Corporation willing to back events, racing schools and other development programs to further the sport among the youth, newbies and other racing enthusiasts.

With its Petron Motorsports program, it aims to up the ante of competition from the grassroots level. It even strives to bring it to such a level wherein we could compete, not just locally, but also on the world stage.

With this in mind, the premium quality of its products ensure to deliver optimum performance for every car and bike out there on the track.

The fuel company already has a number of sponsored events scheduled throughout the year. These are the following:

Toyota Vios Cup

This event is dubbed as “the most highly anticipated premier one-make race series in the country”. Here, it’s all about the driver’s skill as the one-make Toyota Vios cars are said to be great equalizers.

Petron Philippine Motorsport Championship (PHIMOS)

It’s an action-packed race weekend for four-wheel drivers, from newbies all the way to seasoned racers.

Makabayan Racing Series

This endurance racing series is a test of stamina and durability of both man and machine as they strive to cover the greatest distance in a given duration. The Kagitingan Cup was held last April 15 to 16, while the Kalayaan Cup transpired last June 10 to 11. The Bonifacio Cup, meantime, is set on November 25 to 26.

Petron Philippine Overland Expedition

Offroad adventure is the name of the game. This is the perfect event for the untamed and the spirited. Racers here are tested on their driving and navigating skills off the beaten path.

Other programs in the pipeline

The program also advocates two-wheeled racing through the Petron National Motorcycle Racing Championships (MORAC). This event covers three major classes for every kind of motorcycle enthusiast – Underbone, Scooter and Superbike.

Meantime, the Petron Motorsports Karting Academy hones future champions by providing kart clinics for kids as young as seven years old. These prodigies are put to the test in various karting competitions such as the Petron Blaze 100-ROK Cup Series and the Petron Blaze 100-Rotax Max Challenge Philippines Karting Super Series.
