After successfully rolling the Tiggo 8 Pro plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) last year, the Chinese carmaker recently capped another fruitful unveiling of its all-new Tiggo 5X Pro and new Tiggo 7 Pro hybrid vehicles at the City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque City.
With these new vehicles added into the company’s electrified lineup, the Filipino motoring public now have more options for greener mobility to pick from their stable.
“But it is not only about a new car,” an elated Froilan Dytianquin, the new Managing Director of Chery Auto Philippines, said during the launch event.
The industry veteran, with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive field, is now taking the reins of the company to stir it to even greater heights.

Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid: Style and practicality in a greener compact mobility
Speaking of customers’ needs, the all-new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro encompasses that desired vehicle that features a more premium feel and luxurious design together with a greener and more sustainable power mill while keeping that value-for-money proposition.
“We are excited to introduce the new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid to Filipino new car buyers. At the onset, it dons a rugged and sporty profile. Upfront, the vehicle features that big, bold Diamond Galaxy grille coupled with its distinctive LED headlights with follow-me-home function and dual-row LED daytime running lights.
With these, come power-folding side mirrors with turn signals, window chrome trim, rear spoiler with high-mounted brake light and integrated load-bearing roof rails. Capping this panache are 18-inch two-tone alloys with beefy 215/55R18 tires.
Inside, it’s spacious and well-designed. The cabin gives one that premium feel with its faux leather seats with bucket-type front seats, sporty red accents, multi-color ambient lighting, six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, fourway adjustable front passenger seat, intelligent remote key, tilt-and-telescope steering wheel and N95 cabin filter, among others.
Front and center is its 10.25-inch touchscreen, the biggest in its class. This is complemented by its six-speaker infotainment system with Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and USB connectivity.
Also, it sports a fully digital seven-inch instrument cluster, a 360-degree around-view monitor, reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, electronic cruise control with speed limiter, electronic parking brake, and wireless mobile phone charging.
Under its hood is the new-generation 1.5-liter turbocharged DOHC VVT 16-valve Euro 6-compliant four -cylinder gasoline engine coupled with an all-new continuously variable transmission (CVT), working with a 48-volt belt-starter generator (BSG) mild-hybrid motor that produces 154 hp and 230 N-m of torque.

The all-new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid is priced at P1,140,000. While the non-hybrid option with a normally aspirated 1.5-liter engine starts at P940,000.
