Ford delivers a 1-2 combo of powerful open road thrill and a juggernaut of extreme off-road adventure
It’s a day a Ford fan here in the Philippines–for sure–would never forget. The American carmaker recently just unveiled two powerful models in its lineup–both on the very same day. This double haymaker came with the legendary pony power, seventh-generation all-new Ford Mustang and the iconic off-road juggernaut in the all-new Ford Bronco.
Ford rocked these new models at the exuberant Okada Manila in Parañaque City.
First, the seventh-generation all-new Ford Mustang truly is one iconic sports coupe that represents what a true American muscle car should be, one that represents freedom, passion and thrill of the open road.
Now, this newest offering comes in two variants: the 5.0L GT Premium Fastback, which starts at P3,999,000 and the 2.3L EcoBoost® Premium Fastback, starting with a price tag of P3,499,000.
Both variants of the Mustang feature the MagneRide® Damping System that increases comfort while expanding the sports coupe’s performance limits on the road or on the racetrack.
Other key features include durable Brembo™ brakes, a Quad Chrome Tip Exhaust with Active Valve Functionality which controls the volume of the vehicle’s engine growl, and 19-inch alloys.
Inside, it meanwhile enjoys RECARO® leather-trimmed sport seats and soft touch accents around the cabin.
It also has various driving modes to enjoy: Normal, Sport, Slippery, Custom, Track, and Drag Strip–all with a simple click.
A new Magnesium Framed 13-inch Colored Center Display offers seamless connectivity with the vehicle with SYNC®4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition, Wireless Apple Carplay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and wireless mobile charging. A 12-inch Digital Cluster is also provided for real-time information.
Under the vehicle’s hood, the GT Premium Fastback variant sports a 5.0LTi-VCT V8 engine that’s mated to a 10-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission, producing 492hp and 567 N-m of torque.
Meanwhile, the EcoBoost® Premium Fastback variant carries a 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, mated to a 10-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission, churning out 318hp and 475 N-m of torque.
Unique features
A segment-first electronic drift brake gives the vehicle a track-like experience as it unlocks the rear-wheel-drive drifting capability of the coupe with the visual appeal and functionality of a traditional, mechanical hand brake. The Performance Electronic Parking Brake comes standard with the Performance Pack on all Mustang models, engineered for novice drivers. Here, it allows them to learn and improve their drift skills while also providing expert drivers with a competition-ready system.
Likewise, it’s equipped with a slew of other top-notch technologies.
“We are elated that the all-new Mustang is finally here. With its mix of on-road performance and dashing style, customers are in for a thrill with every Mustang drive,” said Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines.
According to him, the American muscle car is celebrating its 60th year with about 400,000 sold in its first year in 1964. Today, millions of Ford Mustang owners are beaming with pride for their iconic sports coupes. In the Philippines alone, there are already more than 3,000 proud owners of the Mustang ever since the vehicle’s local debut in 2012.
A juggernaut of extreme offroad adventure
Finally, the long wait is over. It’s here and ready to rock the off-road scene. The all-new Ford Bronco is definitely a sight for sore eyes. The five-door SUV, with its striking bold lines and rugged style oozes with machismo. Its lone Outer Bank variant with Sasquatch Package retails at P4,998,000. This comes with a complimentary Peace of Mind service inspection package for a worry-free ownership experience.
