The inaugural Women’s Run last year gathered about 5,000 runners. This time, it comes back stronger than ever as it aims to bring together more than 8,000 participants at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City this upcoming March 9, 2025.
This coincides with the celebration of International Women’s Month this March, commemorating women’s strength, resilience and camaraderie, as well as fitness, and overall health and wellbeing.
“This is our second year together in empowering women and fostering a culture of motivation , inspiration and empowerment,” said Runrio Inc.’s Nicole Wuthrich-de la Cruz.
“Last year, we thought we were already ambitious with our 5,000 goal. But this year, we decided to increase the number to 8,000 and we’re humbled that all of those slots are already sold out,” she added.
Other than the usual 1K kids dash, together with the 5-km and 10-km distance categories, the event will add a new 16-km distance category, with special medals waiting for the participants at the finish line.
“We want the women to challenge themselves further and we’re just delighted to see that there are really a lot of communities and run clubs who are supporting this endeavor,” the event’s head honcho added.
Moreover, 10-km and 16-km buddy categories were added into the mix, encouraging male participation and support for their fellow female runners.
This event is done together with Filipina CEO Circle and SM Supermalls.
“Your dedication in championing women’s achievements continues to inspire and uplift members of the community of our empowered women,” Wuthrich-de la Cruz states, addressing their event partners.
She also mentioned that the bulk of their runners will participate in the 5-km distance category, already garnering more than 4,000 runners as of last month.
This affair is also supported by Summit as hydration partner, together with Hey! Salad and major sponsors Marie France, Shell, Smart, Adidas, East West Credit Cards, BPI, AIA, Watsons, Belo, and minor sponsors Buscopan Venus, Lactacyd, Mr. D.I.Y., Gluta-C, and High Sierra.
